



Monica Bianchini received the Laurea in Applied Mathematics in 1989 and the PhD degree in Computer Science
in 1995 from Università degli Studi di Firenze, Italy.
After receiving the Laurea, for two years, she was involved in designing vectorial and parallel software for solving
differential equations at Dipartimento di Matematica, Università di Firenze.
From 1992 to 1998 she was a PhD student and a postdoc fellow at Dipartimento di Sistemi e Informatica (Università
di Firenze).
She is currently an Associate Professor at Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione (Università di Siena).
Her research interests include neural networks, optimization, approximation theory, artificial intelligence,
cryptography and numerical methods
for nonlinear systems and ODEs. She is an author of more than fifty publications in
international journals, books and conferences.
Prof. Bianchini serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON NEURAL NETWORKS and Neurocomputing.
